Pisces Jan 19 Monthly: Susan Miller!

Pisces Jan 19 Monthly: Susan Miller!

Man, I remember that January 19th like it was yesterday, even though it wasn’t. It was ages ago, but that date, tied to Susan Miller’s monthly forecast for us Pisceans, really stuck with me. I wasn’t usually one to dive deep into astrology, you know? I’d glance at the horoscopes in a magazine at the checkout line, maybe chuckle, maybe forget it five minutes later. But that particular year, that particular month… things were just feeling a bit off.

I was in a funk, big time. Holiday cheer had totally worn off, and the reality of a new year, with all its “new year, new me” pressure, was just weighing me down. I felt kinda stuck, like spinning my wheels but going nowhere. I was surfing the web one evening, not really looking for anything specific, just trying to escape my own head for a bit. And somehow, I landed on her site. Susan Miller. I’d heard the name before, people talking about her detailed stuff, but never actually checked it out myself.

I clicked on Pisces. The monthly forecast. It was long, way longer than those little blurbs I was used to. I started reading, skimming at first, then I really started to dig in. And then I hit the part about January 19th. It wasn’t like a specific event was predicted, but there was a strong theme around communication, speaking your truth, and finding your voice, especially in professional matters or with folks you worked with. It talked about a certain window opening up, a chance to express ideas that had been brewing, or to clear the air about something. It mentioned something about ‘planting seeds’ for future growth through clear dialogue. And honest to goodness, it kinda hit me. Hard.

My Little Experiment Kicks Off

I had been sitting on a couple of ideas at work for months. Good ideas, I thought, but I always felt like my voice wasn’t loud enough, or that my input would just get swallowed up in all the noise. I’d seen others just charge ahead, and I always admired that, but I just… didn’t. I’d hem and haw, overthink, and then the moment would pass. So, reading that, it felt like a little nudge. A really big, astrological nudge, if you will.

I decided then and there, for that whole period around the 19th, I was gonna try it. I wasn’t gonna just read it and shrug. I was gonna do something. That started my little “practice record.” It wasn’t some fancy spreadsheet or a deep journal, though maybe it should’ve been. It was more like, I made a mental note, a really firm one, to act on what I felt was right, especially when it came to sharing my thoughts, even if it felt a bit scary.

  • First step: Outline the ideas. I pulled out my old notebooks, the ones full of random scribbles and half-baked plans. I started sifting through them, trying to find those two core ideas that had been bothering me. I spent a whole evening just writing them down properly, structuring them, thinking about how I’d present them, anticipating questions. This was usually where I’d stop. But this time, I kept pushing.
  • Next: Find the right time. The forecast wasn’t about being pushy, but about seizing an opportune moment. I observed meetings, watched how people interacted. I identified a couple of team members I knew were open-minded, and thought about how to bring it up naturally. Usually, I’d just hope someone asked my opinion. This time, I went looking for the opening.
  • The big talk: I remember the day. It was literally right after the 19th, maybe the 20th or 21st. We had a project meeting, and an issue came up that directly related to one of my ideas. My stomach was doing flips, I won’t lie. But instead of just thinking, “Oh, I should say something,” I actually opened my mouth. I waited for a small pause, took a deep breath, and just… spoke. I laid out my idea, clear and concise.

It wasn’t a grand, dramatic speech. It was just me, finally saying what I’d been holding back. The weirdest part? No one laughed. No one dismissed it. In fact, a couple of people nodded, and one even said, “That’s actually a really good point, why didn’t we think of that?” My supervisor, who I always thought barely noticed me, leaned forward and asked for more details. That initial feeling of dread just… vanished. Replaced by a little spark, a tiny bit of confidence I didn’t know I was missing.

What I Got Out Of It

Over the next few weeks, I kept that “January 19th” mindset. Whenever I felt that familiar hesitation, that little voice telling me to just stay quiet, I’d remember that monthly reading. I started speaking up more in meetings. I contributed more to discussions. I even volunteered for a task I usually would have avoided because it meant presenting to a bigger group. Every time I did, it got a tiny bit easier.

It wasn’t like my whole life transformed overnight into some super-confident guru. Nah, not at all. But that particular period, sparked by reading a monthly horoscope, got me to break a pattern. It got me to push past my own internal resistance and actually try something different. The ideas I shared? One of them actually got implemented a few months later. The other one? Well, it just sparked a good conversation, which was also a win in my book.

My “practice record” wasn’t written down in a fancy ledger, but it was etched into my head. It was the memory of feeling that fear, pushing through it, and seeing that things didn’t fall apart. In fact, they got a little bit better. It taught me that sometimes, you just need a weird, unexpected nudge from somewhere, even from a long astrology forecast, to finally get you to do what you already know you should do. It really just helped me to find my voice, when I really needed it.
