Well, I’ve always been curious about tarot cards, and one day I decided to try the Celtic Cross spread. Here’s how it went.
Step 1: Get Everything Ready
I first grabbed my tarot deck. It was a cool deck with all these interesting pictures on the cards. Then I found a quiet spot where I wouldn’t be interrupted. I sat down, took a few deep breaths, and shuffled the cards. I shuffled them real good, like a magician in a movie, making sure they were all mixed up.
Step 2: Lay the First Card
I placed the first card right in the middle of my little setup. This card, as I learned, represents the current situation. It was like peeking into what’s going on right now. I turned it over and there was this picture that kind of made me go, “Huh, that’s interesting.”

Step 3: Add the Cross
Next, I put a card across the first one, forming a cross. This card shows the challenges or influences. I was a bit nervous to see what it was. When I flipped it, it was like, “Oh, so that’s what might be getting in the way.” Then I added the third card above the cross. This one’s about the near future. I was excited to see what it had in store. After that, I placed the fourth card below the cross, which represents the subconscious. It was like looking into the deep, hidden parts of myself.
Step 4: Build the Column
I started building a column next to the cross. The fifth card was placed above the cross and to the right. It shows the recent past. I was like, “Let’s see what’s been going on recently.” The sixth card went below the fifth one, representing the near future. It was like a little peek into what’s coming up. Then I added the seventh card, which is about the querent’s self – how I see myself in this whole situation. It was kind of eye – opening to see that card.
Step 5: Complete the Spread
I added the eighth card, which represents the environment or outside influences. It was like looking at the world around me that might affect things. The ninth card went above it, showing hopes and fears. I was really interested in what this one said. And finally, the tenth card, which is placed at the bottom right, represents the outcome. When I turned it over, I was like, “Wow, that’s how it might end up.”
After I laid out all the cards, I sat there and stared at them for a while. I tried to make sense of what they all meant together. It was a really cool experience, like going on a little adventure through my own life. And even though I’m not 100% sure what each card exactly means, it sure got me thinking about my life and what might be ahead.
