Nobody else wants to do this job. It’s hard, niche work, but here’s the kicker: it doesn’t require the constant emotional performance of marketing. It just requires clarity, structure, and a deep understanding of what people don’t understand. Because this kind of work is so specialized and so critical—compliance failure means literally millions in fines—the pay scale just jumped like crazy.
I leveraged the very thing my old boss called “too emotional”—my ability to sense and filter information overload—to make complex things simple for huge organizations. And believe me, they pay big bucks for simple. I mean, serious big bucks. I went from that miserable 70K at the agency to a salary nearly hitting 110K inside of eighteen months, just by being the person who could finally sit down and make a document that didn’t make your eyes bleed.
