Pisces 2017 Career: Horoscope Tips!

Pisces 2017 Career: Horoscope Tips!

Man, 2017. What a year that was for career stuff, especially for us Pisceans. You know how it is, sometimes you just feel like you’re drifting, right? Like you’re in a boat without a clear paddle. That’s kinda how I was feeling about my job back then.

I wasn’t really one for horoscopes normally. Like, I’d glance at them, maybe chuckle, but never really put much stock into it. But in early 2017, I stumbled onto some “Pisces 2017 Career Horoscope Tips” on some random website, probably while procrastinating. And for some reason, it just clicked with me. I figured, what’s the harm in actually paying attention this time?

My Little Experiment Kicks Off

I didn’t go crazy, didn’t buy a crystal ball or anything. What I did was, I opened up a plain old text file on my computer. I just named it “2017 Pisces Career Log.” Super simple. The idea was to just jot down any career “tips” I found for Pisces for that year, and then actually record if I saw anything that lined up, or if I tried to act on them.

I started browsing around a bit more, just looking for common themes. It wasn’t deep research, more like casual surfing. I’d find stuff like:

Pisces 2017 Career: Horoscope Tips!

  • “Embrace your creative side, especially around Q1.”
  • “Avoid confrontations; choose diplomacy, particularly mid-year.”
  • “Trust your gut feelings on new opportunities.”
  • “Networking events will prove unexpectedly fruitful in the fall.”

I’d just type these out into my log, pretty much verbatim. Didn’t overthink the wording. Then the challenge was, how do you even apply this stuff?

Putting the Tips to Work (or Watching Them Happen)

I remember one specific project at work in early 2017. It was a real grind, felt like we were just spinning our wheels. The “embrace your creative side” tip kept bugging me. My usual approach would be to just stick to the script, push through. But I thought, “Alright, Pisces, let’s try this.”

I started brainstorming some really out-of-the-box ideas for the project. Things I’d normally dismiss as too weird or unworkable. I didn’t hold back. I actually sketched out a few of them on a whiteboard in a private room, just for myself. When we had our next team meeting, I tentatively pitched one of the wilder concepts. It didn’t get adopted wholesale, but it totally shifted the conversation. It got people thinking differently, and we actually found a better path forward because of that spark. I wrote that down in my log: “Creative tip worked. Got team unstuck. Whoa.”

Later in the year, there was this sticky situation with a colleague. We just weren’t seeing eye to eye on something big, and it was escalating. I was ready to just blast them with my frustrations. But then the “avoid confrontations, choose diplomacy” tip popped into my head. I literally paused, took a breath, and instead of reacting, I suggested we talk after we’d both had time to cool down. It wasn’t easy, but we ended up hashing it out much more calmly. Bridge not burned. Another entry in the log: “Dodged a bullet with [colleague’s name]. Diplomacy engaged. Crisis averted.”

Then there was this job offer that came up. On paper, it looked fantastic. Good money, interesting role. Everyone I talked to said, “Go for it!” But my gut, man, my gut just felt off. Like something wasn’t right. I remembered the “trust your gut feelings” bit. I wrestled with it for a few days, really weighed the pros and cons, but ultimately, I declined the offer. Turns out, that company went through some serious internal turmoil about six months later, and the project I would have been on got shelved. Major bullet dodged there. My log got another entry: “Intuition loud and clear. Avoided a mess. Phew.”

Come fall, it was about “networking events” being “unexpectedly fruitful.” I usually dread those things. Small talk, ugh. But I forced myself to go to two local industry meetups. Just showed up, tried to be open. Nothing big happened at the time, but a few weeks later, an old acquaintance I’d briefly chatted with at one of them pinged me about a small freelance gig that actually paid pretty well for the little effort it took. Totally unexpected. “Networking actually worked! Small freelance cash. Go figure.”

Looking Back at the Record

I kept that little text file going for the whole year. It was messy, just my thoughts and observations typed out quickly. Not formal, not polished. But by the end of 2017, when I actually scrolled through it, it was pretty insightful.

It wasn’t that I suddenly believed in magic. It was more about how those “tips” gave me a framework to think about my actions. They made me pause and consider things I might have just rushed through or ignored otherwise. It was like having a weird little checklist for different aspects of my professional life.

The biggest takeaway for me wasn’t about the accuracy of horoscopes. It was about how taking a slightly unconventional lens to my career made me more intentional, more observant, and frankly, more willing to experiment. That simple act of writing things down, of tracking my own journey against a quirky set of prompts, ended up being pretty powerful. Sometimes, you just need a different way to look at things to actually see them clearer.
